The rainy weather for Harold’s Golf Fiasco this year didn't cooperate but that didn't stop Harold, his family, the amazing volunteers or the golfers from having a day of laughter and fun.  The event was still on course to be another record breaking day!  I thought last year was a historic amount, but coupled with the Harold's Flippin' Pancake Fiasco the total this year is a astounding $24,000!!!! There are so many people involved with all three Harold’s events that are “behind the scenes”. They don’t hear their name on the radio, I don’t get to give them the hug they deserve, and they aren’t called out for their time, efforts and dedication in a crowd. But, year after year, they come back, they keep giving what they can, when they can and they help to make the event/day fun, and the total donation to St. Jude phenomenal. To anyone/everyone who has a part in making all of Harold’s Fiascoes a success, whether you’ve donated space, food, time, auction or prize items, or came to golf or bought something in the live auction, a heartfelt thank you.  Especially to a community that I still call “home”, whose residents I call “family”. Of course to Harold Ankrum and his family, I give you the biggest kudos, if it weren’t for your year round efforts and insight to have started the golf outing, Harold’s Fiasco wouldn’t exist. Thank YOU and I love you!

According to Tara Ankrum Olson, this year's combined efforts raised an incredible $24,000!!!  That total will be announced and proper thanks yous will be given when the check is presented during the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Radiothon on B105 and KOOL 101.7 in March 2017.  A special thank you to Tara for providing the photos for this year's gallery.  There is rumor that more photos may be coming!

Save the date for the Hog Roastin' Fiasco on Saturday, September 10.  The fabulous food will be served at the Carlton VFW, 124 Chestnut Ave from 1-5pm.  I'm sure Kevin Koen and the crew will be serving out-of-this-world fresh roasted pork sandwiches with all the fixin's, hand-crafted BBQ sauce and of course, Ray Schmitz's famous baked beans.  We'll see you there!
