While the Miami Dolphins got the biggest catch of the free agents by signing WR Mike Wallace, the Minnesota Vikings managed to keep some of their free agents today.  The Chicago Bears had interest in offensive lineman Phil Loadholt, but the Vikings signed him to a multi-year deal.

The Vikings keep him on an offensive line that helped Adrian Peterson have an MVP season.  Another piece of that puzzle was Pro Bowl fullback Jerome Felton, who the Vikings also signed to a new deal.

The Vikings also signed WR Jerome Simpson, who had a disappointing first season with Minnesota.  If he can stay healthy he can only help what is now the weakest WR corp in the league.

With the release of Antoine Winfield and trade of Percy Harvin, Viking fans will be hard pressed to get excited for next season unless the Vikings sign a couple of known free agents.

This year, signing second tier players and relying on the draft will simply not be enough.
