Country Throwback

This weekend the Seattle Seahawks will try to win back to back Super Bowls when they face the tough New England Patriots.  Coincidentally, the Patriots were the last team to win the big game in consecutive years so I decided to use that for my Country Throwback this week.

As you know by now, B105 is proud to present Little Big Town March 26th at Amsoil Arena. Little Big Town formed in 1998, but it took them four years to get a single released.  My Country Throwback this week focuses on that song.

It was January of 1991 when Patty Loveless released the third single from her fourth album, On Down The Line.  Country fans were just beginning to understand what a force of nature this redhead was going to be.

After the cold week we've had, a song by Mark Chesnutt popped into my head for a Country Throwback.

I've never gone this far back with my Country Throwback, but with Christmas one week from today I felt it was appropriate to go back to 1944, the year "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" was introduced.

Christmas is only a couple weeks away, so what better time to get in the holiday spirit with my Country Throwback.  This week, let's visit a song that has appeared on the country singles chart seven different times since 1993.

With all the excitement this week about Kenny Chesney's two shows next summer at Target Field, I thought it would be a perfect time to feature Kenny in this weeks Country Throwback.

First and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving!  When thinking of a Country Throwback song this week, one fairly recent song Martina McBride song instantly came to mind.

As Ken and Cathy have spent the past week and a half giving away family 4 packs of tickets to see Disney Live!, which is coming to Duluth on November 30th, I thought it would be a good time for my Country Throwback to honor Little Texas and the music of Disney.

Hard to believe we are already halfway through the month of November.  While time continues to fly, the good news is that soon the holidays will be here and you still have plenty of chances to win cash just by listening and online. For my Country Throwback this week, I decided to stick with that cash theme by revisiting a number one hit from Joe Diffie.

This weekend is the beginning of the Minnesota firearm deer hunting season.  In honor of all those venturing out into the woods, my Country Throwback this week goes back to 1982 and a Hank Williams Jr. classic.

It's time once again for Hallowen, the night the kids go out and get candy so that we parents can steal it piece by piece as they sleep.  There are a lot of songs out there, such as "Midnight In Montgomery" or "Better Dig Two", that deal with haunting themes. However for my Country Throwback this week, I thought I'd go back 40 years for a song that actually name checks some cla
