Country Throwback

When we announced that tickets were on sale now for 'Ladies Game Night', I thought I should choose a song about games as this weeks Country Throwback.  One classic Kenny Rogers tune instantly came to mind.

It's another Boo At The Zoo this Saturday at the Lake Superior Zoo, where Chris Allen and I will be handing out candy to all the awesome kids.  In honor of that, my Country Throwback this week features a Pam Tillis hit featuring an animal in the title.

It's a big week for Jason Aldean, with the release of his new album "Old Boots, New Dirt", featuring his current hit 'Burnin' It Down'.  I thought it would be a great time to feature Jason on a Country Throwback in celebration. Let's go back to 2005, the year Jason Aldean launched his career with his self-titled debut album...

October is here and now there is no denying that summer is over.  As bummed as I am about that, there are things I love about fall including this George Strait song.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to see the Eric Church concert in Minneapolis.  It was a fantastic show, with everyone singing along with just about every song.   They not only did this for a very energetic Eric Church, but they also sang along with opening act Dwight Yoakam.

Today marks another anniversary of a day I wish had never happened, but one that nobody should ever forget.  In honor of September 11, 2001, my Country Throwback this week features Alan Jackson and the night he put an unthinkable horror to music.

Football season is once again upon as with tonight's first regular season battle between Green Bay and Seattle.  My Country Throwback this week features a Hank Williams Jr. song that every football fan knows.

Every week it's fun to look back a popular country song from years ago with my Country Throwback.  This week, rather that stick with that format, I'd like to remember my favorite musical moment featuring the late Robin Williams.

Let's go back to the 80's with this weeks Country Throwback.  I totally remember the 80's!  It was a time I had a permed mullet, kept a comb in my back pocked, and I pinned my pants.  Don't judge me, it was cool back then.

Every year, one country song becomes the anthem for summer.  It's the big hit song that just sounds and feels like summer.  Recently, we've had Billy Currington's "People Are Crazy", Little Big Town's "Pontoon" and Blake Shelton's "Boys 'Round Here" take honors.  However, in 1993, Alan Jackson released one of the biggest summertime anthems of all time.

I'm not going too far back this week with my Country Throwback, but with Dierks Bentley in town for a concert at Bayfront Festival Park, it's only fitting that I revisit his first single.

Country Fest officially begins today in Cadott, Wisconsin with Blake Shelton being this years first headliner.  In honor of that, my Country Throwback this week will feature Blake and the song that started it all.
