Years ago I took one of these classes called Skywarn, where you can learn how to correctly identify severe weather.   This is very useful to the National Weather Service, as they always can use weather spotters that know what they are looking for.  It's also very useful information for you as well if you spend time outdoors.

The purpose of the class is to be able to correctly identify Severe Thunderstorms that produce hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

I remember how interesting it was to see how thunderstorms develop.  I learned what happens before a tornado forms, and what wall clouds are all about.  It's very useful, and I will attend the classes coming up.
