Cathy Kates

Hi y'all, thanks for checking out my bio! I grew up in the country community of Wrenshall, attended church in Carlton and worked in Cloquet. I adore and respect my family. My husband and I laugh and run together (well, I jog). My daughter is in her second year of college and keeps me young and our dog Bauer is an overactive Schnauzer. I love shoes, Asian food, and trying new recipes. My dream (at the moment) is to be on the Big Bang Theory or the Ellen Show. I have been in broadcasting for 16 years and thank you for your friendship and waking up to laugh with Ken, me and the Breakfast Club. ~Peace, Love & Hugs

Attend the Project Joy Backpack Program and Help Feed Northland Children

I am astonished to learn of how many Northlanders there are that are in need of food.  Not just during the holidays, but on a day to day basis.  I learned that many of them are our neighbors and many are children.  The late Patrick Plys and his family saw the need and with their direction, ambition and passion, the Project Joy Backpack Program was introduced in our area.  You can help by attending the Project Joy Event or by volunteering your time.

Cathy Kates’ Last Ditch Cure For Tennis Elbow: Horse Liniment [Cue The Jokes]

The doctor says if the elbow hurts on the top, it's tennis elbow.  If it hurts on the bottom, it's golfers elbow.  I haven't done either and my left elbow has been killing me for months.  I can barely lift a coffee cup to my face!  I talked about this during the morning show and a listener face booked me and said she and two others in her office have the same thing and so does my husband!  Could rubbing medication for horses really be our cure?
