Nothing is worse than getting up for work and not being able to make your coffee or take a shower because you don't have any water.  That's what some residents of Bayview Heights will be dealing with this morning due to a leaky fire hydrant.

The City of Duluth Public Works and Utilities Department identified a leaking fire hydrant at 87th Ave West and Vinland Street in Bayview Heights.  It needs to be repaired and they will need to turn the water off to do that.

City crews will begin work on the hydrant first thing this morning, Friday, June 13, 2014.  The affected properties in Bayview Heights will be the neighborhood west of 77th Ave W. in Duluth.  Water in that area will be interrupted from about 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:00 p.m.

The City thanks the public for their patience as crews work to expedite repairs. Water service will resume as soon as repairs are completed.
