Every Wednesday we take a few minutes to chat with Daryl from Animal Allies.  Today he introduced us to Cybil.  He described her as an 8 year old Norwegian Forest Cat.  Maybe I'm the only one, but I had to have him repeat that.  I've never heard of one before, and it turns out they have a cool history.

Norwegian Forest Cats are native to Europe as you could guys by the name.  The breed is naturally adapted to cold climates, and shed water easily.  It's like a Labrador retriever of cats, except it won't do anything you want it to do and will just look the other way when you call for it.   It's a cat, you know.

Ancestors of the cat were likely brought to the region by Vikings.  So next time you think of Vikings pillaging cities, imagine them being accompanied by some kittens.

Cybil is available for adoption at Animal Allies, located on the corner of Airport Road and Rice Lake Road.
