The United States Postal Service has been losing money for years, but they have a plan they would love to implement later this year that could help save money.  With government approval, they would stop delivering the mail on Saturdays.

Our partners at the Northlands News Center are reporting that cutting one day of mail service would save the postal service about $2 billion annually.

Under the new plan all mail will be delivered Monday through Friday.

Only packages will be delivered on Saturdays.

Postal authorities say they're making the announcement now to give people time to adjust but it is still a tentative plan.

The postal service needs the approval of Congress before this change can take place.

What are you thoughts on this proposed change?
