Just when we thought the Minnesota Timberwolves would gel this year upon the return of Ricky Rubio, the team learned they have to overcome another major setback this season.

Kevin Love, who visited a specialist Wednesday, learned he will need surgery on his injured hand that will sideline him for what is believed to be 8-10 weeks.  That puts him back on the court at the end of the season, or just before the playoffs.  However, with Love out, Rubio still limited, and an injury report that seems to grow longer every single week, should the 'Wolves even be thinking about playoffs this season?

The trade deadline is looming and head coach Rick Adelman doesn't want to wait a year or two to make a run, so perhaps they can swing a surprising trade for a player who can help fill the void until Love returns.  If they stick with who they have and still sneak into the playoffs, it would be one of the most amazing jobs Adelman has ever done.
