Tim Tebow, the NFL player who is lately better known for being a distraction than a high caliber  player, has found a team willing to give him another chance to be on an NFL roster.

ESPN.com reports that Tim Tebow is set to sign as a quarterback with the New England Patriots.  Patriots spokesman Stacey James would not confirm Tebow had already signed when contacted Monday by The Associated Press, saying he did not "anticipate any additional transactions to announce tonight."

The move will reunite Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos' head coach when Denver traded into the first round to draft the Heisman Trophy winner in 2010.

I really wonder if Tebow will make the team as a quarterback.  I think they will let him practice in that capacity at first, but if he makes the team it will be as red zone tight end or as a player who contributes in specialty packages in the red zone as a weapon for Tom Brady.  Can you picture pulling Tom Brady, even for a single play, to bring in Tim Tebow?

I can see Tebow helping in very select situations, but I can't imagine that Tim Tebow will be Tom Brady's primary backup.  If he is, it will be the biggest Bill Belichick coaching miracle yet.

Let the media circus begin in New England.
