He IS the King of Sing and that's not going to change.  You'll still hear new songs from George Strait on the radio and be able to buy his CD's (he'd love that, I'm sure).  What you won't be able to do is see him perform live at a concert.  He has schedule one last hurrah, how far would you go to see him one last time?

According to Taste of Country, Country legend George Strait has announced that he will retire from the road after one final tour.  He calls it the "Cowboy Rides Away" tour and it will be a full year of playing venues for the last time, saying good-bye to touring.  But, not to making Country music!

At a press conference yesterday afternoon the 60 year old  said "It’s been a hard decision for me to make, but as far as the touring goes, I’ve decided that I’m not going to tour anymore after these next two years.”

He made it clear that he wasn't retiring.  He still plans to make Country music and maybe a live appearance now and then.   He added, “This is going to be a very special, emotional tour for me.”  “Everywhere we’re going holds fond memories and I’m looking forward to paying my respects.”

This is crazy, but he wants to "get out" before he shows up to perform at a concert and nobody showed up to watch.  Would that EVER happen?

He is making sure he doesn't pull a "Farve" and said he reserves the right to change his mind and begin touring again.  Only time will tell, until then, just enjoy the talent of George Strait.
