I definitely think this deserves the final rose. If you caught the latest episode of The Golden Bachelor, you may have noticed a familiar place: Minnesota! Part of the episode touched down right here in the Land Of 10,000 Lakes.

For some background, there is a new spinoff in Bachelor nation that follows the same format as The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. The only difference? The lead is an older man with older leading ladies!

The show debuted at the end of September and has been a huge hit so far! The lead is 72-year-old Gerry Turner, who was completely unknown before being cast as the lead on the show earlier this year. He is a devoted dad and grandpa who lost his wife a few years ago.

He is now in the final stretch of his journey, which means bringing his final few ladies home to meet their families. One of the last contestants standing is from Minnesota so it makes sense they would come film here! Leslie Fhima hails from Minneapolis and is a 64-year-old fitness instructor and personal trainer.

As if that wasn't impressive enough, she has also run a bunch of marathons and used to be a professional figure skater. The famous hometown date episodes aired last Thursday (November 2nd) so we got to see our beautiful state front and center, if only for a few minutes.

When Gerry makes it to Minnesota to meet Leslie's family, we get a quick glimpse of what appears to be the famous Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis! This checks out as Gerry was spotted filming something there over the summer.

And of course, as the saying goes, they obviously saved the best state for last. Just saying.

You can catch up on Gerry's journey to find love on streaming services. I am a few episodes behind but am really loving the new season. There is just something refreshing about good, genuine people trying to find love without drama. The finale airs later this month on ABC so we will see if our Minnesota girl takes it home.

Oddly enough, there have been many Minnesota Bachelor connections over the years. We have had a few leads from Minnesota over the past few years. For one season of The Bachelorette, they filmed almost an entire season here!
