The continued maurices construction will cause some temporary street closures in downtown Duluth that you should be aware of.  This closure will allow for the placement of a crane.

The next stage of the project maurices project will temporarily close 4th Ave West between Superior Street and the alley below 1st Street for the placement of a crane on the street to install precast to the building. This means that starting this Friday, April 3, 4th Ave West will be closed to motorized traffic until May 6, 2015. However, the sidewalk on the east side of 4th Avenue West will remain open for pedestrians and vehicles will be able to access the Phoenix parking lot through the alley.

Heads up, once that is completed, the crane will be moved to the north bound lane of 5th Avenue West between Superior Street and the alley below 1st Street. The north bound lane of 5th Avenue West will then be closed from May 7 until about May 27th. I'll update this blog as the progress continues to keep you in the know!

Plan to avoid that area and obey posted traffic signs.
