It seems like Taylor Swift has friends in all kinds of places — she thanked more than a dozen peers in her CMA Entertainer of the Year speech alone. On Friday (Nov. 18), during her concert in Columbia, S.C., the ‘Ours’ hitmaker added Darius Rucker to the list of stars she’s performed with.

“You know, my favorite country artist is from South Carolina,” the 21-year-old superstar told her audience, which then erupted in a sea of blood-curdling screams. Swift added, subtly hinting who would show up next and what song they’d perform, “And I hope it’s alright with you if we have a guest tonight.”

Within seconds, Mr. Rucker appeared at the top of Swift’s elaborate set staircase and started right into his big hit ‘Alright.’ The country singer sported his usual t-shirt, baseball cap and boots, but his home state crowd didn’t seem to mind the casual look — they sang along with every word.

Rucker descended the staircase and Swift joined him at the bottom, where they then took center stage side-by-side and finished out the song together, much to the South Carolina fans’ delight.

Taylor Swift’s Speak Now Tour wraps up with three huge finale shows in Los Angeles and a double-whammy in New York next week, and we suspect she’ll bring out her biggest surprise guests yet!
