Many people complain each year about the first snowfall, especially when it seems to come all at once for us.  However, there is always a group of people cheering for more, and they are called snowmobilers.  Even though the ground is snow covered, the trails don't open until December 1st for several reasons.

While I'm personally not ready to think of anything other than summer stuff, with the exception of NFL Football, I do know that hunting season is coming.  The Minnesota Department Of Natural Resources is also about to get ready and you should be on the lookout.

There's still plenty of summer left to take a road trip and experience some cool things not too far from home, including this extension of the Paul Bunyan State Trail. Whether you're a cross country or down hill skier, the weather has cooperated as far as snow.  Although, the temps could accommodate by warming up a bit.  But, it will soon and when it does, the Superior Municipal Forest Trails are open.  There are some things you should know before you go.

The City of  Duluth Parks and Rec Department is looking for input from you.  They are looking to develop "directional" or "way finding" signs and would like the publics help in designing them.  If you are an avid park and/or trail user, here is your chance to be heard.
