I would encourage you to take in the sights, sounds, smell and wind off Lake Superior in person, but if you can't or just need a Canal Park fix these webcams allow you to watch the ships arrive and depart from the Duluth Harbor from virtually anywhere.

If you've noticed this ship anchored just outside the Duluth Harbor for a few days with smaller vessels coming and going from time to time, you're not alone.

At around noon on Monday (April 13), the Twin Ports welcomed the first ocean-going ship into the harbor for the 2015 shipping season.

The shipping season has begun in Duluth, but we have yet to see the first 'saltie' of the year come into the harbor.  If you can guess when the moment will arrive, you could win prizes from the Duluth Seaway Port Authority and Visit Duluth.

Mother nature apparently doesn't realize that our 2015 shipping season has started since we're expecting 3-5 inches of snow tonight through Thursday, but the first laker, the John G. Munson departed the harbor on Monday to kick it off!

Well this is different.  As part of a fundraiser for the Maritime Museum in Duluth, people can buy a raffle ticket for a prize of a 5 day cruise aboard the Edwin H. Gott.  It's being called "The Cruise of a Lifetime" aboard the thousand footer.

It's starting.  We were at the Mall of America this past weekend and it took us half an hour to find a parking spot.  We waited in line to eat, make a purchase, pee and even to use the escalator.  We weren't doing any holiday shopping yet, but those that were are smart.  As long as they get the gift in the mail within the next couple of weeks they are ensured it will arrive before Christmas.  I kn

The 453 foot Antigua ship "Diana" was destined to be the first "saltie" to enter the Duluth Harbor for the 2014 shipping season. Her entry, like much of the shipping season, has been delayed due to ice.

I'm so excited!! This morning I took a picture of the sub coming up as I met them up north in a secret location. I was brought to the sub via small boat by LT John Harrison, and then boarded for my journey to Duluth/Superior.
