I had the honor of stepping on the ice and taking hockey lessons with the UMD Bulldog Men's Hockey Team earlier this year. As I was leaving the facility, I noticed several interesting rooms that evoked questions. I was invited back to go "behind the scenes" and show you what few fans have gotten to see and give you insight to what a UMD Hockey athlete's life is like.

When I asked if I could skate with the UMD Bulldogs, I thought that would entail me skating along the rail with them practicing behind me.  I didn't realize they were going to TEACH me their moves.

Today Cathy was talking about the Maroon Loon mascot that use to skate back in the day with UMD Bulldogs.  I had never heard about it, but we did have some listeners call up and say they remember him.  His name was Jay Jackson, and here's a YouTube video I found of him.

A new reality show called "Hockey Moms", which will be produced in Minnesota, is looking for moms to star in the show.  There is an open casting call for hockey moms who have the "it" factor, with with charismatic and vibrant personalities.  I can instantly think of several friends who would be perfect.

Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth will officially be the stage for Hockey Day Minnesota 2016. During a press event held at Bayfront Thursday morning, officials from the Minnesota Wild, FOX Sports North, headline sponsor Wells Fargo and other statewide and local organizers unveiled plans for this winter's event.

This Thursday, July 30, at 11 a.m. a special announcement is scheduled for Bayfront Festival Park in Duluth.  According to a press release from the Minnesota Wild, details will be unveiled regarding Hockey Day Minnesota 2016.

The Bulldogs will face a familiar foe as they make their first appearance in the NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament for the first time since 2012.

Superior Spartan Goalie Peyton Flanders is very close to winning PlayInt=TheDells.com's Wisconsin Athlete of The Week.  He is nominated for making 20 saves in the Championship allowing the Spartans to take home a state championship.

The Greyhounds of Duluth East beat the odds multiple times through their incredible run to the 2015 Class AA Championship game. With the odds stacked agains them yet again, Lakeville North proved to be too much for the Hounds, winning 4-1 and staying a perfect 31-0 on the season.
