After the flood, one the hardest hit businesses over the hill was Grandmas Restaurant.  After countless hours of cleanup and remodeling, Grandmas on the hill is all set to once again open to the public and they will also  help other flood victims.

Every little bit helps for those still facing the challenge of repairing and replacing things damaged by the flood.  Good news from Comfort Systems, the utility provider in Duluth.  Our partners at The Northland's News Center are reporting that they are is offering a low interest home energy loan program to victims affected by the flood.

On the day of the flood, it was with heavy hearts that we broadcast the devastation that took place at the Lake Superior Zoo.  Animals were lost, habitats were destroyed and the Northland knew it would be a long time until normalcy was restored.

People who were affected by the flood of the century can get clean up supplies and other help at the Cloquet Armory from 7am-7pm.  The Armory is located at 801 Minnesota 33, Cloquet, MN.  Supplies are available through this Thursday, but potentially longer...

The Jay Cooke State Park will remain closed indefinitely following the historic flood on June 20th, 2012.  Highway 210 that runs through the park is washed away near the bridge and much of the park has been washed away as well.

Just what we need, more rain.  Our stormy night has a lead to another flash flood warning for areas in the Northland and we're advised to stay off the streets within the warning area. Our partners at the Northland's News Center are reporting a flash flood warning is in effect until 8:30AM for Aitkin, Carlton, Douglas, Crow Wing, NE Burnett, N Pine and N Washburn Counties.

The Morneaus are giving back to Twins Territory, announcing that they will match donations up to $25,000 for flood relief stemming from last week's flood.

This morning our partners at the Northland's News Center reported that their has been looting in the wake of flood in areas of the Northland.  A lot of people have property in their yards either waiting to be dumped or sometimes just drying out that has been stolen from pickers and scavengers...

We've just received word from the Minnesota Department Of Transportation that I-35, just south of Duluth will close temporarily for emergency road repairs on Tuesday, June 26, from 5:30 a.m. to approximately 8:30 a.m.

If you were unlucky enough to get a substantial amount of water in your basement, you probably had your gas appliances go off.  It can be very difficult as I found yesterday to get those appliances going again.  Here's a few tips that helped me out. 1.  Follow instructions on your appliance, if you are unsure, call a professional or your utility company. Natural gas can be dangerous!

Residents should stay away from streams, culverts, and standing water. Never underestimate the power of moving water. Children should be supervised and remain away from all water at this time.
