Today we talked with Sarah again from Animal Allies in Duluth.  We chatted for a bit about "Walk For Animals" this weekend, and also about Coca Bean.

Meet Decca, this week's Animal Allies featured pet.  Decca is a border collie mix located at the Superior Animal Allies.  She's a happy little girl and she loves attention!

Hooo boy, it is so close to being summer, we can practically hear the incessant song of the ice cream truck already. Frankly we don't want to wait until Monday to kick off the season. We can't. We've lost all control. Here are some pics of animals in kiddie pools to prove it.

Lots of things are happening at Animal Allies including the Walk For Animals on June 8th, the cat promotion now going on, and the 2013 Animal Allies raffle.   We did find tim to talk today with Sarah about a big loveable black lab, Andre The Giant.

Even in the face of unspeakable tragedy, miracles can occur.

Nope, it's not a pet cricket, but rather a loveable adult lab looking for a good home.  Cricket was found as a stray in Superior, and is currently at the Superior Animal Allies shelter.

This week is National Pet Week, which happens to coincide with "Be Kind To Animals" week.  Our family has a cat, which you've probably heard me complain about periodically.   Cathy's family has two dogs, one being a brand new puppy.  (You've probably heard her complain about the puppy too.)  But we both love our pets, and wanted to take a poll of our listeners and to see if we have more

Ladies and gents, it’s time for another round of entertaining fails. Recently we’ve scoped out the really unfortunate and the semi-painful type of fail. But this time around, we’re going for the straight up adorable, AKA puppy fails.

Zeus is a pit bull terrier we were introduced to this morning with Animal Allies.   Zeus is a silly, fun 3 year old dog that is looking for a home.  He is available to adopt at the Superior Animal Allies, located at 2225 Hill Avenue.

Are you looking for a calm, friendly, senior dog as a companion?  The Superior Animal Allies would like you to meet Patrick.  You can't really tell from the picture, but Patrick is a Basset Hound/German Shepherd mix.  He's short and long and pretty cute too.

Animal Allies is starting a new program called Spring Break Camp.  It will run during student's spring bring April 8-12.  Kids ages 8-12 can learn about how to care for animals, and do some volunteer work for the shelter.

After getting a new puppy, the question came up, do you need to register your pet with the City of Duluth?  After research, I found you do, and for bees and chickens, if you plan to keep them too!  Plus, if you want a dance hall or plan on running a coin operated device.  There's a license for just about everything you want to do or own and some of them left me scratching my head!
