We learned today with our brainteaser question that surprisingly 60% of drivers on the road right now have a cassette player in their car.   No way!  I can't believe that.   They haven't made cassette players in vehicles in years!  So, I wanted to do our own poll and see what we come up with.

If you've got a kid under the age of 15, odds are at one point or another they have been fascinated with the Disney Film "Cars," or "Cars 2."  Now Disney will unveil their spin off of cars, "Planes" on August 9th.  Watch the trailer, and see if Disney will have another big hit on their hands.

Parallel parking can be tough. But it can also be oh-so-entertaining.

Everyone knows when a plane goes down, the first thing the investigators try to get is the black box recorder. The recorder can measure the actions of the pilots, record transmissions and also anything on their dash they may have seen. This week ended the public comment sessions to put a black box in every new car sold by September 1, 2014.

Just when you think that the car-centric, UK show can't get any crazier, it makes like a gearhead version of "Jackass" and gets video of a guy making a Mini Copper do a backflip off a ramp. Spike TV is television for guys, right?  So they've had success with 'Bar Rescue' and now they've turned to another thing guys like:  Cars.  So they've launched the show "Car Lot Rescue."  It's a pretty interesting show that let's you see how car dealerships make their money.  Or in this case... SHOULD be making their money.

Imagine yourself jumping into your car for a quick run to the supermarket. As you approach your first stop sign, with the sun shining on your face and some fine tunes on the radio, you realize that your brakes aren't arresting your forward movement, but actually accelerating it. Eventually, your car reaches 125 mph - and then remains there - for an hour.

The Tesla Model S has been named Motor Trend magazine’s 2013 Car of the Year, one of the most prestigious honors in the automotive industry. The Model S won by way of unanimous vote, after 11 discriminating judges test drove 25 other vehicles to compare those all-important technical aspects of four-wheeled travel like acceleration, brakes and suspension tuning.

The latest automotive reliability survey from Consumer Reports came out this week, and Toyota leads the way. Ford, which had been rising in the ranks recently, fell back this year: it now ranks second-to-last among all auto manufacturers.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a statement saying that they have arrested a small ring of auto part suppliers that have been selling counterfeit airbags to be installed in cars. They have released a list for you to check and see if your car is on the list.
