Here is the full story released by Duluth Police Department with the help of our Media Partners Northland’s News Center. An earlier story of a school lockdown had parents across the area scared because not much information had been released. Here’s the official Duluth Police release from our Media Partner.

On Monday, December 16th, 2013 at 8:23am Duluth 911 received a call from a parent of a Lincoln Park Middle School student. The parent said her son was angry about an incident that had occurred at the house and as he was leaving for school he told her that “she could pick him up at jail later because he was going to bring a gun to school.” No specific threats were made towards any students or staff.

Duluth Police were notified and the school was put on lockdown. Officers located the school bus the suspect was riding on and stopped it at Grand Forks and Wicklow Street. All students were taken off the bus. No weapon was found and the suspect was transported to police headquarters. Police searched the home and found a BB gun belonging to the suspect. The school was taken off lockdown. The student was released to a family member.
