For the second consecutive day, a Canadian hockey team has defeated the United States, denying them the gold medal.  Yesterday, the women's hockey team defeated the United States in overtime to win the gold.  Today, the United States men fell to Canada to prevent them from playing for the gold medal.

Canada’s Jamie Benn scored the only goal of the game in the second period and a great defensive effort by Canada made it stick, as they went on to win 1-0.  Both teams played very well, but the high scoring United States team just couldn't get on the board.

Canada will now play Sweden in the gold medal game on Sunday. Sweden defeated Finland 2-1 in the other semifinal.

The United States can still medal, as they face Finland Saturday at 9am CST in the bronze medal game.
