The wait is finally over. The new Gander Outdoors store in Hermantown is officially open. The new spot opened its doors Wednesday.

The store was scheduled to open around this time, with news of the new location coming to the Northland last year.

The new spot is part of a rebranding mission for the company, which includes a new logo and name. The stores were previously known as Gander Mountain. Now Gander Outdoors, the Hermantown store is one of six new locations planned for Minnesota.

Notably missing from this location is ice fishing gear, which is surprising. This could change in time for ice fishing season next year. It is possible there are no items available at this time because it is too late into the current season. There are items available on their website though.

Because the store is now officially open, there will be a big event to kick things off on Saturday, February 17th. The celebration will start when the doors open at 9 a.m.

There will be free coffee and pastries in the morning. There will also be fun activities throughout the afternoon. Kids can paint a lure from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can also build a duck call from 1 to 3 in the afternoon!

There will be other incentives to head on out to the new location too! On the day of the event, customers will receive a special gift with any purchase and be be entered into drawings for a store gift card.

Gander Outdoors is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who love hunting, fishing and camping. The new spot covers 66,000 square feet and will employ over 70 people in both part-time and full-time positions.

Gander Outdoors is located on 4275 Haines Road in Hermantown. Go check it out and see it for yourself!
