Are you looking for adventure? There's a new business in Northern Minnesota that offers ATV and snowmobile rentals on Minnesota's North Shore.

I got a chance to meet owners Jason and Sarah Barstow in Beaver Bay, Minnesota. They operate Timber Ghost Tours, found right on Main Street in Beaver Bay. They offer guided tours for customers of all experience levels.

This was their first year in business, and I was lucky enough to be there for their open house this weekend, where they offered free rides to guests so they could experience the "inside" of the North Shore.

It's really convenient because Timber Ghost Tours is just across the street from the trail system. They have GPS in the 4-seat side-by-side machines, so you know exactly where you are. It also tracks you from when you leave, so you can see the line and route to return back to the shop.

It's actually pretty affordable too. They offer half-day and full-day rentals. They provide helmets if you want (under 18 must wear a helmet), and glasses. Just make sure you dress appropriately! It can get a little chilly in the fall.

They offer guided tours too with helpful and friendly guides Brittany and Chris. Besides guided tours, they also offer simple ATV rentals, and when the snow comes they'll switch over to snowmobile rentals.

We took off in a Polaris 1000 side-by-side and were given a route to take by Jason. We were going to head for an overlook about an hour away. Apparently, from this spot, you could see the area where Al Capone used to have a secret hideout.

The story goes that Capone would have his guards up on the ridge as lookouts. There are still remnants there too, like the brick fireplace. Pretty neat history!

We crossed some rivers, hit up some muddy sections, and had an absolute blast.

I can't wait to go again. Just make sure you aren't wearing anything you don't want to get dirty!
