Michael Ray gets emotional with his latest single "Get to You" and his sense of vulnerability make for a captivating song.

The moody melody that opens the track offers the right impression that what's to follow is a song packed with heartfelt emotion. Like any good country song, Ray passionately sings to a woman whose past heartbreak has her running away from love, pleading that he won't cause that same heartache with a message that embodies compassion, backed by an infectious melody. While Ray's previous hit "Think a Little Less" also embodied a sense of tenderness, "Get to You" goes a little deeper, showing off his sympathetic vocal delivery and ability to tug at someone's heartstrings, even if they're broken.

It seems that the young country star is beginning to hone in on his artistry, being able to deliver playful songs while still having the talent to sing with emotion and make it believable. Though the song's leading lady is resistant, Ray will have no trouble finding love, as its heartfelt lyrics and his swoon-worthy vocals are bound to make anyone fall in love with the song and the artist behind it.

Did You Know?: Ray won Season 1 of the reality show The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep in 2012 where he was mentored by John Rich.

Michael Ray’s “Get To You” Lyrics:

Somebody had to hurt you bad / For you to give up like that / Somebody had to break your heart in two / But that ain't me and you / So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why / You can't look me in the eye / What am I supposed to do? / When you say we're through / Why do you?

Chorus:

Run away, run away from love / What the hell are you so scared of? / You walk away when you've had enough / Of trying, of trying / Girl there's always gonna be some pain / A little sunshine, a little rain / It doesn't mean it ain't worth it babe / I'm trying, I'm trying to get to you / To you.

One day you're gonna love again / Mess up and let somebody in / To every part of your whole world / You think it's unthinkable girl / But somebody's gonna break those walls / Somebody's gonna watch you fall / Gonna give it your all and I hope that I'm around / When you finally find out why you.

So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why / You can't look me in the eye / What am I supposed to do? / When you say we're through / Why do you?

Somebody had to hurt you bad / For you to give up like that / Somebody had to break your heart in two / But that ain't me and you.
