I feel like I blog a different street detour, road construction or closure every day and yet, they keep coming.   These particular repairs will start Wednesday, August 29 and continue until Saturday, September 15.  Bear in mind that once the culvert is fixed, they are planning on resurfacing the roadway, that will delay completion of the project by another two weeks.  Here's the scoop:

The City of Duluth will be undertaking significant repairs along West Skyline Parkway starting tomorrow August 29, 2012. The section of Skyline Parkway between Haines Road (40th Ave West) and Getchell Road (Highland Street) will be closed while extensive culvert repairs, replacements, and ditching are being installed. Local traffic is advised to use the St. Louis River Road for access.

The duration of the drainage repairs/improvements are expected to last until September 15, 2012.  However, immediately following completion of the City project, St. Louis County will be reconstructing the bituminous road surface within the same road closure area. The duration of the repaving is estimated to take about 2 weeks.
