Lady Antebellum fans gave singer Charles Kelley the gift that keeps on giving for his 31st birthday yesterday (Sept. 11). Dedicated Lady A'ers donated a total of $965 (so far) to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which will use the funds to promote research and provide care for children struggling with life-threatening illnesses.

The 'Just a Kiss' hitmakers set up a fundraising page online, with the following message: "In honor of Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum's birthday, he is asking only for one thing, a donation to St. Jude Hospital of any amount."

The trio's loyal fans took the suggestion and ran with it, and within 24 hours a diverse group of fans had donated anywhere from $10 to $100 each to raise nearly a thousand dollars for St. Jude, one of the leading children's charities in the world.

"Thanks to all who donated to St. Jude as a gift to me. Means a lot," Kelley tweeted early Wednesday morning (Sept. 12) before leaving for the studio, where the group is hard at work on their highly-anticipated fourth studio album.

Lady Antebellum's fundraising page will stay up for a few more days, with the stated goal of raising $10,000.
