Kara Goucher Warns Against Running With Dogs in Warm Weather [VIDEO]
Every summer we hear of the dangers of leaving a dog locked in a car on a warm day. Another danger is runners who take their dogs with them for a summer run, and it's for that reason that Kara Goucher has teamed with PETA to help spread the word.
According to PETA, on a hot day, pavement can heat up to between 130 and 180 degrees which is hot enough to burn a dog's feet. Dogs can also run the risk of heat stroke, heart attack and other ailments if they are forced to run in warm weather.
If you're dog loves to run with you, it's best to play it safe and do it in the early morning or late evening hours to avoid direct sunlight.
Here's a video that features Kara Goucher and more information on this topic.
