It was three years ago today, April 8, 2011 that Carrie Underwood made her acting debut in the movie Soul Surfer.  Since then she has blossomed, not only in music, but transforming from movies to stage when she performed in "Sound of Music" which aired live on TV.

She was among some big stars when she debuted her acting career in Soul Surfer.  Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt and Craig T. Nelson.

The movie was an inspiring true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack and courageously overcame all odds to become a champion again.  It takes you through her determination and unwavering faith. Which is where Carrie Underwood comes in.  She played the part of the youth group's church counselor.  In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany’s feisty determination and steadfast beliefs help her to overcome the odds and her loss becomes a gift and inspiration to others.
