Did you have a little red wagon as a child?  I had one, but it wasn't a Radio Flyer, it was generic.  Kinda like I got Hydrox chocolate sandwich cookies instead of Oreos.  Deprived, I know!  The Radio Flyer company has a day designated as "little red wagon day" and for a very good reason.

Little red wagons have been deemed a toy for kids for 98 years, but parents know how versatile they are for hauling the little ones around through a crowd when they aren't so little anymore or you may remember seeing a few of them in the Spirit Valley Days Parade.  They're also used in place of wheel chairs at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  Of course, all ages use the red wagon.  Mine was often used to haul soil and gardening tools by my mother.

They are hoping that by recognizing the day, it will encourage kids to put down the computer games, walk away from the TV and get outdoors and spark their imagination.

Miranda Lambert made the little red wagon famous with one of her songs (but you can't ride in it!)

If you aren't into little red wagons, it's also "Nation Turkey Neck Soup Day", what does that mean?  We've come full circle!
