This year the mosquito were ridiculous!  I know, I know, we had a late winter, more snow and that lead to a wet Spring.  Mosquitoes hatch their babies in water, therefore we had an abundance of the little blood suckers.  One family in Minnesota feels our pain and has come up with a great idea for those that aren't going to let the little pests keep us inside.

Can you imagine?  To be camping, hiking, fishing bug-free?  Or, sitting around the campfire smelling like a can of bug spray?

Jennifer Austin of NNCnow.com reports it's the brain child of the McAlpin family.  They call it Getting Ticked Apparel and they treat their clothing with an Insect Shield that is suppose to be good for at least 70 washes.

They weave EPA-approved, all natural permethrin into the clothing.  After being treated the clothing is suppose to repel mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers, and midges (no-see-ums).  (I think those are the little buggers that bit me while vacationing in Lacrosse, WI).

There's quite an array of clothing available now, but they are hoping to expand with more choices for women and are even looking into a line for dogs.  That's what I'm excited about because my Schnauzer Bauer is allergic to several injections he gets from the vet.  This might eliminate one injection that causes him so much trouble!
