Luckily, we haven't received a whole lot of snow, so it hasn't been an issue.  I doubt that we'll get lucky enough NOT to have a major snowfall soon and that's why this info is valuable to your and your family.  It will require help from you and your neighbors.

The Duluth Fire Department and ComfortSystems would like residents to help keep fire hydrants shoveled and clear of snow.  Whether you live in the city of Duluth or in another community, if you live near a fire hydrant you should make the conscious decision to keep it clear of snow and ice.

Please "ADOPT" a fire hydrant near your home for the winter.  If you have already adopted a hydrant in your neighborhood, thank you for your efforts.  This will ensure if you or you neighbors need hydrant service, the Duluth Fire Department will have easy speedy access to it.  Again, this is a great idea for all communities to "adopt".

Remember, protecting your hydrant, is protecting yourself!
