Duluth Libraries and Other City Buildings Set Reopening Dates

It's just another sign that things are getting back to normal.

The Main Duluth Public Library and the City of Duluth announced that several buildings will be reopening over the next couple of weeks as state and local restrictions are lifted and life tries to get back to pre-pandemic norms.

All Duluth public buildings were closed on March 17th, 2020, so it will be more than a year that these buildings have been closed. Starting June 1st, City Hall, the Public Safety Building, Comfort Systems, and the Mt. Royal and West Duluth Branch Libraries will again reopen to the public.

The Main Duluth Public Library will reopen on Monday, June 7th to check on their latest hours visit here. The Duluth Public Library also has some construction ongoing so keep that in mind if you plan a visit.

Duluth Fire Station buildings will continue to be appointment only until further notice. In a press release, Fire Chief Shawn Krizaj said, "We continue to watch vaccination numbers within the state and county for any possible COVID-19 surges. As the City of Duluth reopens in general, we want to make sure that we have enough staff to respond to emergencies."

Duluth City Hall will be open Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 4:30 PM and visitors will need to enter through the main doors off of Priley Circle and stop at a newly created welcome desk where staff will assist visitors and give a quick health screening before meeting with city staff.
