With the nice beach weather comes wind and dangerous rip currents.  BUMMER!  But, it is important to note that the Duluth Fire Department is issuing a dangerous swimming conditions warning.  Please be sure to pass this on to your family if you are not home and they are planning a beach outing today through tomorrow morning at 10am.

Their concern is that the wind and wave conditions can support rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water, even the most experienced swimmer could be effected. They are saying that everyone should stay out of the water regardless of your swimming experience.

At this time, there are no lifeguards at Park Point.  You will notice red flags flying along the beach to indicate that swimming condition are dangerous.   Flags are also locations at: 12th St beach and Lafayette Square. You will be notified if swimming conditions improve before this warning expires.

Flag locations are: 12th St beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach.  More information on conditions and rip currents can be found by visiting the Park Point Beach website.
