If you've done any shopping at Cub Foods recently and used a card to pay, you may want to check to make sure you were charged the right amount. Reports say that an "internal technical issue" with the company that processes card payments for Cub Foods and several other companies led to an unknown number of incidents on Friday, August 28; where some people were charged twice for the same transaction.

The glitch impacted other retailers that the processing company, NCR Corp., services; but many of the stories being shared reginally are coming from customers of Cub Foods. According to the Star Tribune, NCR's processing software "caused a disruption in its payment systems nationwide." The glitch reportedly lasted a few hours on Friday (August 28) and led to slow payment processing, declined card payments, and double charges for transactions.

NCR is reportedly taking a proactive approach to handling the issue, working with retailers to fix the issue and any errors that may have occurred. That report says that shoppers that were overcharged should see charges reversed "within 5 business days", which means it is possible an issue you had may have already been fixed. NCR was quick to point out that the issue was a glitch, and not a security breach or an attack of any sort. They maintain that their systems were and are secure.
