UPDATE: City Of Superior Shares Update On Fourth Of July Events

UPDATE 7/3/23: On Monday night (July 3rd), Superior Mayor Jim Paine issued a statement on the city's annual Fourth of July celebration and how it could be impacted due to rain. Read his full statement below to see what events throughout the day may be impacted due to dangerous weather in the forecast.

The Fourth of July holiday is just a few short weeks away and the City of Superior is gearing up for their annual celebration! They just revealed all the details for this year's holiday celebration, which happens to be the 26th year of the big event.

The celebration will happen on Tuesday, which is the day Fourth of July falls on this year. Festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade on Belknap & Ogden in Superior. The rest of the day is filled with even more fun, ending with fireworks and live music.

Following the parade will be the Dennis VanAlstine Memorial Car & Motorcycle Show from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. During the car and motorcycle show, there will be a ton of different events, including the following:

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Live music from Flipside at 12th and Tower
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Live music from PB&J at 13th and Tower
3:30 p.m.: Bordertown Betties Pinup Contest
5 p.m.: Awards

Following the car and motorcycle show, there will be another round of events at Barkers Island Festival Park. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be live music from Born Too Late. From 8:15 p.m. to 11 p.m., South of Superior will take the stage for more live music.

Fireworks will kick off at 10 p.m. and launched off a barge, in true Twin Ports fashion. There will also be vendors at Barkers Island for most of the day starting at 4 p.m. Vendors include the following:

Love Creamery
New Scenic Cafe
T&D Concessions
Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
Border Town Betties - Beer / Seltzers

Parking will be minimal so the City of Superior officials encourage any locals attending to bike, walk or carpool to any event or to Barkers Island. Parking will be reserved for vendors and bands. General admission parking is available right as you enter Barker's Island.

This is one of many amazing events happening across the Northland over the holiday weekend and on the holiday itself! Most notably, there will also be a massive celebration in Duluth, as the annual Fourth Fest returns this year to Bayfront Festival Park.
