It's Labor Day Weekend.  For many that means one last chance to go to the cabin, go camping, or spend some time on the beach before we get into the Fall grind of school, college, becoming chauffeur to our kids and their activities. (although the weather this weekend has been less than co operable).  For those choosing the beach option, the conditions have worsened due to the wind and that has prompted the Duluth Fire Department to issue a Red Flag Warning.

There is a High Risk of Rip Currents today through 10a tomorrow.  The Duluth Fire Department has issued a warning for dangerous swimming conditions for Park Point beaches effective immediately.

This warning means that wind and wave conditions can support rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the water. Stay out of the water regardless of your swimming experience. There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point, and red flags are flying along the beach to indicate the dangerous swimming condition.

Flag locations are: 12th St beach, Lafayette Square, and Park Point beach. You will be notified if swimming conditions improve before this warning expires.
