Chris Young's got new music in the works -- Christmas music! The singer will release a holiday album in 2016.

Young shared the news on Thursday (June 30), in a Facebook Live video (which readers can watch above). The artist made the announcement from the studio, with producer and co-writer Corey Crowder, Santa and one of his elves present for the big reveal. And although it's June, the studio was decked out in holiday greenery and lights, and Young and Crowder were wearing their finest Christmas gear.

"I am so excited. You guys know Christmas is one of my favorite times of year," Young said during his Facebook Live video. "I have so many Christmas songs I want to do, it was hard to narrow it down to this album.”

Young did not share any further details about the project, instead simply promising that he "will definitely have more and more news as we get closer to time."

“Obviously I’m just happy that this year will be the first year that you guys can put an entire Christmas album of mine in the CD player, or on your iPhone, wherever you listen to music," he adds. "I’m pumped.”

Young's Christmas record won't be the only new holiday release for country fans to enjoy this year: Earlier in June, Kacey Musgraves revealed that she, too, is recording a Christmas album.

“It might be June but we’re gettin’ festive!" Musgraves wrote on Instagram at the time. "Be expecting a very special Christmas record for all you little elves comin’ out just in time to stuff your stockings! Put it on your lists!"

Young is currently on the road, supporting his newest album, I’m Comin’ Over; a list of all of his upcoming shows is available on his website. The record itself is available for purchase on Amazon and iTunes.
