Could this be another Carter story that ends happily with the Minnesota Vikings? Duron Carter, the son of former Viking's Hall Of Fame wide receiver Chris Carter, is set to workout for the Vikings today, according to the StarTribune.

Duron is also a wide receiver and he and his father share a similar story. Duron is very talented and has great size at 6-foot-5 and 205-pounds.  However, the word on him was that his personal issues would make him a high risk for an NFL team to sign.  Remember, the Vikings got Chris Carter from the Philadelphia Eagles because he also had personal issues that prevented him from playing to his potential.  We all know how that story ended.

Duron just completed his second season in the Canadian Football League, where he was a CFL All-Star with 75 catches for 1,030 yards and seven touchdowns.

StarTribune.com is also reporting that Carter has since drawn interest from several NFL teams and has been working out for the likes of the Colts and Browns with more workouts scheduled with other teams.

If the Vikings like what they see, they could make a contract offer before Duron Carter leaves to visit other NFL teams.  He does play a position that is a weakness for the team his father still holds in high regard.

I think they Vikings should roll the dice on Duron.  Perhaps rolling the dice on a Carter will once again pay off nicely for the team.
