History

I was really bummed when I heard that Tycoon's Restaurant was closing.  I loved their Chicken Florentine and Hummus Platter.  I have lots of great memories at Tycoon's.  The history of this building is amazing, it's the old City Hall.  My daughter celebrated her 18th birthday in the Treasury Room upstairs and when I was coach of the Denfeld Cheerleaders we held our banquet in the Council Chambers.

The Palace Theater opened in Superior Wisconsin back in 1917.  It operated as a theater until 1982, when it was then used as a church.  Not long later it became vacant.  The city took possession of it, and it ultimately was demolished in 2006.  This video tour was taken before it was demolished, and shows what the Palace Theater had become.

Recently my husband and I took a trip to Yellowstone National Park.  Both of us had been there during our childhood and wanted to revisit with a new appreciation now that we're adults.  As we were traveling hours in the truck, we began to discuss the differences on-the-road from years ago.  Oh how far we've advanced in just a few years!  Maybe you can add to my list.

From 175 feet above the floor of the Amsoil Arena on the catwalk we talk to Dan Russell, the Executive Director of the DECC.  While I catch my breath Dan explains building design and energy efficiency.  To further their quest to be community-minded we'll also show you the "grain elevator wall" and give details on the 50th anniversary celebration and invite of the DECC employee reunion. At the grand opening of CARS (Complete Auto Repair Service) I was wandering around the array of Vipers, antique vehicles and racing cars and ran across what looked to be a surf board with a motor.  It was way too cool not to ask what the heck it was and where could I get one?

He shocks us with a story of how he had to pay a judge to get an artist out of a murder charge so he could perform, watch and find out who that was!

It's been part of my life from when I very young and use to watch the fireworks display with my mom and dad to when Mr. Anderson our Science teacher took us there to take nature pictures.  As I began to drive, my friends would go there to hang and check out the view.  Now, I use Skyline Parkway for running and often times we choose it as a motorcycle route.  How cool is it that Skyline Parkway is
