Big Machine Records Rounding Up Country Stars for Motley Crue Tribute Album
After three rocking decades (plus three years), Motley Crue is calling it quits, having just announced their final tour. The silver lining in this news is that country's Big Machine Records is paying tribute to the rockers with a 'Country Music Tribute to Motley Crue' album, and they're pulling in Florida Georgia Line, LeAnn Rimes, Brantley Gilbert and Cassadee Pope to help.
The idea for this tribute record started, essentially, with Big Machine Records founder, Scott Borcetta. He is one of many country fans who profess a huge love for Motley Crue -- which led to the band's manager, Chris Nilsson, calling him with the idea.
"I have been a not-so-secret Crue fan from the beginning," Borchetta says of the collaboration. "When manager Chris Nilsson called with the idea for a tribute album on Big Machine Records, it was an immediate 'yes' from me! Our album will highlight just how great the Motley Crue song catalog is. At the end of the day, that's what will stand the test of time."
The record is slated to street this summer -- the major country label has teamed up with Motley Records and Eleven Seven Music for the exciting tribute album. It will show off the band’s quality songwriting with fresh takes on their classic hit songs by the announced artists, as well as upcoming country hitmakers.
With the unconventional melding of contemporary country and wild rock n' roll, this tribute album will definitely take a walk on the 'wild side!'
