When director Zack Snyder unveiled our first look at Ben Affleck as Batman (along with the Batmobile) for 'Batman vs. Superman,' the photo in question sent the internet into a whirl of excitement. Unfortunately, the same can't really be said of Henry Cavill's reveal, primarily because it's not even of him as Superman, but rather his journalistic alter-ego, Clark Kent.

At the end of 'Man of Steel,' after the devastation Superman inflicts on General Zod and the city of Metropolis, we see the strongest man alive donning a shirt, tie and glasses to go work undercover as a journalist for The Daily Planet alongside Lois Lane.

Now The Royal Marine Charitable Trust Fund, a UK organization dedicated to supporting serving and retired marines and their families, revealed the first photo of Henry Cavill returning to his role of Clark Kent on the 'Batman vs. Superman' set.

And here's a closer look.

This may sound like an odd source for something like the first look at Clark Kent's return to pop up, but Cavill has become The Royal Marines Trust Fund ambassador and is helping to launch The Royal Marines 1664 Challenge, in which "Royal Marines Commandos will ski, sail, cycle, canoe and run 6656km" in order to capture the "Commando spirit and Corps values." To help support the event, Cavill autographed two t-shirts (one of which is shown above) to be part of a giveaway.

As for 'Batman vs. Superman,' we still are craving our first looks at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as villain Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane also return to their 'Man of Steel' roles for the next film, while Scoot McNairy was recently added in a mysterious role, and Holly Hunter, Tao Okamoto and Callan Mulvey will portray characters newly created for the film.

'Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice' opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
