Ken Hayes

Hi! Thanks for listening to Cathy and I every morning for the last 10 years. I grew up on ‘The Range’ and I’ve made the Twin Ports my home for over the last decade. It’s a great place for my wife and I to raise our kids. I love to hunt, fish, and hang out in our great outdoors. I also love my job! It’s great to be able to connect with everybody in the Northland every morning and have a few laughs together. I’ve lived in many different parts of the Midwest, but nothing is as great as right here!

One Simple Way To Make Your Fish Fry Even Better

We were invited this weekend to a fish fry and a friend's place.  They were doing large a.  mounts of fish, but each filet that came out tasted fantastic.  It was probably the best fish I've ever had.  I didn't need tartar sauce, lemon, butter, or anything.  So I watched the chef and learned what made it so good!

Is Eating A Steak Out Of A Bag Weird? [VIDEO]

It seems that people are split right down the middle on this topic.  Our co-worker Ian was walking down the hall eating something out of a ziploc bag.  I confronted him to see what it was and it turned out to be a hefty sized steak.  He seemed surprised that we hadn't seen this done before.

Ken Teaches A Millennial Co-Worker How To Change A Turn Signal Bulb [VIDEO]

Ian is our "in house" Millennial.  He works on our sister station Mix108, and he's self admittedly not the handiest of guys.  Recently the Mix 108 vehicle had a burned out turn signal bulb.  We took the chance to show Ian how to do a simple vehicle repair such as this.  It wasn't simple enough.

Invasive Species Can Be On Your Docks & Boat Lifts Too

By now you would hope that many of us would be educated enough to know about the dangers of spreading invasive species with our watercraft.  The DNR has made a huge effort in the past decade to educate the public.  We're used to inspecting our boats and trailers for invasive species, but in some cases some of these species may spread and grow another way:  boat lifts and docks.
