Art In Bayfront Park Will Benefit Duluth’s Homeless Children
The countdown is on to Art In Bayfront Park. This year, it’s more than a Community event to showcase and highlight the talent of 180 artisans. It will also help the homeless children in the Duluth area.
Many people are surprised to learn there are children in the Northland that are homeless, but it’s more common than you think. This prompted Art In Bayfront Park to begin “Plates of Promise.”
After an article in the DNT about homeless kids in the Duluth school system, Art in Bayfront Park came up with the idea of “Plates of Promise”. It’s been in the works and throughout the past school year, students in local art classes have been making plates to donate to the event.
The plates (made from the heart), will be sold for $10 in the Art in Bayfront Park’s Kids Korner during the event dates of August 18 & 19, with the funds raised going to the Families in Transition program for homeless children. Get more details [here].
They will be accepting handcrafted items from any artisan who would like to contribute a plate and make a difference for homeless children. If you would like more info, contact DeBora Bernick at firstname.lastname@example.org.
