Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time has been one of our most anticipated movies of next year since the moment we heard she was making it, and the promotional material has only gotten us more and more excited.

The newest trailer gives us a crash course in the act of tessering — that clever way of bending (well, wrinkling) both time and space in order to travel from one point to another instantaneously. Figuring this out is exactly what got Meg Murry’s father in trouble in the first place. We also get a much better look at a bunch of the different locations around the universe where this story takes place, and we finally see the giant, plant-like true forms of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. The creature is not really anything like the winged centaur of the book, but it’s so beautiful I might not even mind.

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.

A Wrinkle in Time opens in theaters March 9, 2018.
