We always think about our Community members that need a little help when the weather turns cold and our minds turn toward the holiday feasts.  However, more and more people are having to turn to the food shelf and supplies are low.  There's an easy way to get involved while you're running your errands this Saturday.  It's called the Share Food Drive and it's so easy!

One of the sentences that caught my eye when reading the press release for this event was "no parent should have to skip meals to assure that their children are fed". You always think that kind of "stuff" happens somewhere else in the U.S., not in our own Community.

What a convenient way to help your neighbors.  You know you'll need to stop at the grocery store on Saturday, October 27, anyhow.  Choose one of the following to stop at between 8a-4p and get a list of what the food shelf needs from volunteers (like the boy scouts) as you enter.

Purchase those items, a whole cart full, or make a cash donation at:

  • Super One Foods, Duluth & Cloquet
  • Mount Royal Fine Foods
  • Cub Foods
  • Whole Foods Co-op
  • Homecroft Foods
  • Cloquet Wal-Mart

Food will be distributed through CHUM's Duluth Emergency Food Shelf, the Salvation Army in Duluth & Cloquet, the Union Gospel Mission, and the Hermantown Food Shelf.

The SHARE Food Drive is sponsored by CHUM and the Boy Scouts of America
