It's a Labor Day weekend tradition in the Northland.  The Great Northern Classic Rodeo!  I have had the honor of being involved with the rodeo for years and it guaranteed to always be a fun time for the whole family!  Plus, get a babysitter because one of my favorite local bands, Basement Session is playing for the Saturday night rodeo dance.

The rodeo is held on the Head of the Lakes fairgrounds in Superior, 4700 Tower Avenue and the performance go on rain or shine.  There are lots of competition events planned, Bareback Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Cowgirls Barrel Racing, Team Roping and Bull Riding, all URA/MRA Sanctioned.  Of course the rodeo clown is there to keep you giggling while he keeps the competitors safe.  A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers that help out this non-profit organization.

If you plan to go to the 7p, Friday night perfomance be sure to wear pink.  It's the Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night and there's Mutton Bustin' for the kids during intermission.

Saturday's performance is also at 7p with more Mutton Bustin' fun for the kids.  After the rodeo head to Aces on 29th, 2827 Oakes Ave, Superior for my favorite band from Wrenshall, Basement Session.  It's a great group of guys performing a variety of songs that are guaranteed to make drunk people dance!

Make note that the Sunday performance is at 2p after a 10a church service and a 11a Miracle Rodeo, 1:30p watermelon crawl (I've done that one, ugh) and the kids get to take part in a calf chase at intermission.

B105's Breakfast Club will have more four packs of tickets to give away with the Brain Teaser Question Thursday and Friday, otherwise you can get your tickets by calling 715.81-RODEO or 218.428.6600.
