Grandma's Marathon weekend is a lot of fun, but it's even more fun when you're a part of one of the races.  If you're not ready to tackle a full marathon, or maybe you didn't get in to the Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon, there is still a fun race you can participate in that weekend.

Registration for the 22nd annual William A. Irvin 5K opens tonight at 12:01 a.m.  So, just past the stroke of midnight tonight you can get in on the fun.

According to Grandma's Marathon, the field limit for the 2015 race is 2,000, the same as a year ago. To register, runners should visit GrandmasMarathon.com.  The entry fee of $30 remains unchanged from 2014.

The 3.1-mile run begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19, near the permanently docked William A. Irvin ore boat on Duluth’s waterfront and is the kickoff for running events during Grandma's Marathon weekend.
