If you listen to several genres of music, you may know singer-songwriter and rapper, Ke$sha.  You then know by her choice of lyrics, dress and music, it would be highly unlikely that she would choose a Dolly Parton song to cover.  But, Dolly's "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" is near and dear to Ke$sha, here's why.

Her mother, Patricia Rose "Pebe" Sebert, is a singer-songwriter also.  She and Hugh Moffat co-wrote the 1978 single "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" .  Ke$sha says that she wanted her "singing" to be appreciated, because she CAN sing.  People often look at the color of their hair, their clothes, the way they dance.  Singing this song is a complete change from what Ke$sha is use to singing.  Watch her video first, then listen to her cover of Dolly's song "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" and you too, will appreciate Ke$sha.

Caution:  This is the official video, but may contain lyrics that will raise an eyebrow...just warning ya :)

Big difference, huh?  But, shows how diverse Ke$ha is!
